The Charleston Tour plays with the Turtles
Not really but the tour
did venture down to beautiful Edisto Island to tackle the fun challenging Plantation
Course trac.
The Championship flight
had some stellar play as there were three guys under par on the front nine. On the back nine B.J. Hill used some steady
play to post a one shot victory with a 1 under 69 on this par 70 gem. New comer Brandon Hiott gave it a good run
but wound up 3 over par to take second place honors. Marty Bunch with a very nice 74 rounded out
the top three
The A flight also had some
very nice play as four players shot 75 or better. Marc Horne posted a very nice round of 74 for
a one shot victory over 3 other players who all shot 75; Sean Kennec,, Eric
Maland and Jamie Tuberty. Jamie birdied
the par 5 finishing hole and it was just what he needed to pull out the
scorecard playoff with a back nine score of 37 to Eric’s 38 and Sean’s 39..
That was great playing in the A flight
The B flight had Jason
Courtney returning to the winners circle after a bit of a stretch. Jason fired a 79 for a one-shot victory over
Michael Menna who has been knocking on the door for his first victory. New comer Randy Hamilton enjoyed his debut
with a third place finish and a smooth round of 82.
The C flight had a
newcomer post a victory in his first event, a hard task but Eddie Robertson was
up to the challenge with a very nice round of 11 over par 81. Red Hot Tom Brady continued his strong play
of late with a solid round of 83 to hold off hard charging Julie Johnson who
rounded out the top three with a steady round of 85.
The D flight saw Bill
Northrop who has been knocking on the door with two second place finishes,
finally break through for his first victory of the year. Bill fired a very nice round of 85 for a
three-shot victory over Kasey Reeder who held off newcomer Murray Mixon by a
single shot; 88 to 89.
