The Charleston Golf Week Amateur Tour conducted their first local major at Shadow Moss Plantation on Sat and had an Ace of a time. The Championship flight saw Jeff Emory keep racking up the victories as he fired a 79 from the tips to edge Dan Wanner to take top honors for the tournament.
The A flight saw some spectacular play as Duane Bauseman shot a 76, Devan Lawrence and Biff Huff both fired 78's and the strange fact for this is that there were zero birdies from the top three players in the A flight.....That is some spectacular playing!
The B flight saw Mason Talley record his second victory in a row by posting a one shot victory of James Ravenel, (84 to 85). Masons back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16 proved to be the difference as these two continued their new friendly rivalry!
The C flight is where the action was at on Saturday. Erik Eadie continued his solid play by firing an 81 to claim the victory. Marc Godzisz was four shots back with an 85 while Dean Teal finished in third after posting an 86. Dean was not to upset about the third place victory as he was all smiles after hole 4. Dean Aced the par three fourth hole at Shadow Moss on Saturday. His shot went over the bunker, hit five feet short of the flag, checked up and almost stopped before finding the bottom of the cup!! Way to go Dean!
The D flight was won by Columbia tour player Wes gentry who posted a great round of 86 to outdistance the field by a bunch. Jason Scott finished second by posting a 94.
