The Charleston Golf Week Amateur Tour wound up its season at Legend Oaks this past Sat. The Champ flight saw the return of Ben Sloan to the tour. Ben easily won the champ flight going away! The season long points champ for the Championship flight was Jeff Emory.
The A flight provided the biggest field of the day as tour veteran Travis Hoffman made a triumphant return to the tour to take first place honors with a very nice round of 77. Biff Huff came in second while carding five birdies on his way to posting a solid round of 80. There was a tie three way tie for third place, Mike Giffon who plans to play full time next year took it with a scorecard playoff. Mark Ducker whose steady play over the year earned him the Season long points title.
The B flight had to settle things the old fashioned way. Joe Turner and Mason Talley the season long points champion both posted rounds of 87 and took to the first tee for a playoff. Both players hit their approaches to with-in 15 feet and Joe rolled his birdie in to secure the victory.
The C flight saw the season long points champion, Randy Gillum finish things off by winning the C flight with a one shot victory over Wayne Carter.
The D flight saw Chris Hill post his first victory of the year with a very nice round of 94. The D flight season long points champ is John Wilson.
Congrats to all and remember Oct 1st is the last day to register and pay for the tour championship.
