Charleston Tour takes on Charleston National.
With 10 days of straight rain, the Charleston Tour headed
over to Charleston national in Mt Pleasant to hopefully complete their Summer
Bash Event. The rain started again an
hour prior to teeing off. Just before
teeing off, the rain subsided and we were able to play golf! The Championship flight was won by Eric
Maland who posted a fine round of 79 from the back tees which played extremely
long. Eric has been on a little hot streak
as it is his third victory in three events.
The A flight also saw a hot golfer take home the honors as
Randy Tame won his second consecutive tournament. Tony Capehart battled all day with Randy as
the two traded positions in first place all day. In the end it was Randy’s 75 to Tony’s 76
that prevailed for the victory. Great
playing from these tow giving the conditions.
The B flight saw another fine round posted as John Saager
fired a 75 for four shot victory over Jerry Mast (79). Coming in third was Jeff Babin one shot in
back of Jerry. In the C flight, Glenn
Eagerton played well enough o earn not only a victory but a promotion to the B
flight with his fine play. Glenn posted
a season best 81 to cruise to a five shot victory over Chris Huge. The D flight saw Columbia’s Joseph Jones
enjoy the wet conditions with a solid round of 89 for a five shot victory over
Aaron Chase and Larry Penfield. Our next
event is the I17 combo with Myrtle beach on Aug 18. This will be a nice field so sign up
early. Tim
