Charleston and Columbia came together for this combo event 1/2 way between Columbia and Charleston at Hilcrest Golf Course. The weather was great and we want to apologize to the players as we ran into some difficulties with the tournament that went off in the morning. They were still signing players up 30 minutes prior to our tee time.
Once on the course, the play was superb. The Champ flight saw the best round ever on the Charleston Tour as Billy Hill fired a 69 that included five birdies and an Eagle. Way to go Billy. Coming in second with a great round of his own was Jeff Emory who carded a very nice 74.
The A flight also saw some spectacular play as Hiran Hicks fired a 76 to outdistance Daryl Averyhart and Jace Gause who both fired 79's.
The B flight saw Mason Talley post his first ever victory on the tour, posting a solid round of 85 along with Jose Lagos. Mason made par on the first playoff hole to secure the victory.
C flight had George Tyree post a round of 88 to win by a shot over both Les Bradstreet and Brad Morris who both carded 90's.
The D flight saw Wes Gentry outdistance the field with an 88 to secure a 7 shot victory over John Wilson.
Our next event is a Major at Shadowmoss on May 11th, this is our second major of the year, double points and some very nice trophies. Please sign up on line or by shooting me an email. Tim 628-9121
