The Charleston Tour held their event at Coosaw Creek on one of the hottest days of the year so far, with more to come. There was also some hot golf being played.
In the Champ Flight Matt McInnis edged out Billy Hill by firing a smooth 80 while Billy was two shots behind with a couple of birdies and the closest to the pin.
The A flight had Tim Sumption shooting an unsteady 85 to outdistance Jace Gause by five shots.
The B flight is where the hot gold was played as James Ravenel and Devan Lawrence both fired rounds of 80 thinking they were in good shape only to be outdone by tour veteran Jerry mast who posted his best round of the year, a very nice 78. Congratulations Jerry on a fine round of golf.
The C flight saw a back to back winner in Marlon Jones who shot a very steady round of 86 to outdistance Max Velasquez and Erik Eadie who both shot 94.
The D flight saw our lone playoff of the day as two new comers, Reggie Simmons and Gail Kolbe both shot very good rounds of 90. The tie was settled the old fashion way and in the end Gail prevailed and captured her first Golfweek Amateur Tour Title, Congratulations to Gail who always brightens up the tour with her smiling face!
Our next event is a major next week at Shadow Moss plantation, home of some of the area's best greens! Sign up on-line or just shoot me an email.
