The Charleston Golf week
tour made their way out to Rivertowne Country Club with a strong field of 52
golfers to take on a tough but beautiful trac.
The A flight had three
guys break eighty from the gold tees while a handful of others finished within
a few shots of breaking the 80 mark. Tony Capehart and Paul Ponder both
shot 79 and were waiting till the last guy came in before they would have to
head to the tee for a sudden death playoff. Andy Wood prevented them by turning
in the round of the day with a superb 74 to take first. Tony edged Paul
on the scorecard playoff.
The B flight saw three
guys also break 80 as Jerry Mast fired a great round of 77 for his first
victory of the year. Thomas Collins was one shot back with a 78 followed by
Billy Gamblin who posted a solid round of 79.
The C flight saw Bill
chick continue his solid steady play as Bill posted a round of 82, followed by
an old hand who came out to play as a guest T.J. Fabian who posted an 86
followed by the Southern Regional Champ, Casey Sullivan who posted an 88.
The D flight did see a
playoff as Jerome Dowe and Sean Gilpin both fired rounds of 90. In the playoff
Jerome proved to be a bit to much as he won on the second playoff hole. Mike
Miller continued his steady play by posting a 96 for third place.
The CTP winner were Andy
Wood A flight, Scott Crosby B flight, Mitch Rose C/D flight and Tony Walters
won hole 14 that was open to all.
