The Charleston Golf Week
Amateur Tour ventured to Shadow Moss Plantation on May 9th and got invaded by
the Myrtle Beach Boys!
The first invasion took
place in the Championship Flight as Jeff Emory posted a solid round of 78 after
struggling on the front nine with a 42. Jeff steadied the ship after his
front nie to post an even par 36 on the back that helped him slip past Davis
Mullany for the victory.
The A flight saw some
very nice play with four guys posting rounds in the 70's on this difficult
windy day. Stephen Kauble was very steady and drove the ball nicely off
the tee. His round of 74 included two birdies and gave him a three shot
victory on Tony Capehart and Dennis Slezak who both carded very nice rounds of
77 with Tony taking second on a scorecard playoff. Jace Gause was the
other A flight guy in the 70's with a round of 79.
Myrtle Beach struck
again in the B flight as Steady Jack Sudol fired a great round of 77 to take a
four shot victory over William Gwaltney (81) who finished three shots up on
Matt Root who posted an 84.
The C flight saw our
newest tour member play a nice round with an 82 to post a three shot victory
over Shanie Cooper who played sound golf to shoot an 85.
The D flight may need to
step up their game as Aaron Chase posted another victory in the D flight with a
solid round of 91. Aaron recorded a three shot victory over a trio of
golfers, John Wilson, Cowboy and Mike Miller who all posted 94. Michael took
second with the scorecard playoff.
Our next event is going
to be at Seabrook, Crooked Oaks. This will be a popular event so please
sign up early for this one!
