Jeff Wong, Jim Hammonds, Jordan Phillips, Ray Clark and Charlie Cook all win The Hilton Head/Jacksonville season ending major!
Champ Flight:
Hilton Heads
Jeff Wong opens with a five under 67 on Saturday at the Hills course and
bettered his score by one on Sunday with 66.
Wong’s two day total of 11 under par 67-66-133 is the lowest two day total
ever recorded in this event. Elliott
Johnson (HH) finished the two days at one under par good enough for second
place money. Scott Roberts (Charlotte)
finished third at 148 followed by Zake Masterson 149 and Terry Lanning at 150.
A Flight:
Jim Hammonds
(Jax) fired 73 day one and struggle a bit on day two but held on for a one shot
victory at 73-81-154. Ted Turner
(Augusta) finished second at 155 and Brent Densmore (HH) and Mitch Howard (Jax)
tied at 159. Densmore grabbed third
place money on the card and Joe Combs (HH) rounded out the top five scores at
166.
B Flight:
Jordan
Phillips (HH) wins by only two finishing at 160. JC Mora (HH) was second on the card beating
out Chad Eldredge (Charleston) as both
shot 162 totals. Boyd Laughlin (HH) was
solo fourth at 163 followed by Columbia’s Lamont Middleton at 166.
C Flight:
Ray Clark
(HH) wins his first major of the season by only one shot one the final hole
with 173. Craig Altamira (Charlotte) was
second at 174 followed by Ed Cassady 175, Terry Meenach 177 and Napoleon Dunbar
182 all from the Hilton Head Tour.
D Flight:
Charlie Cook
(Charleston) wins by five shots with two day total of 190. Al Legare (HH) was solo second at 195 and Tom
Wendell (HH) was third with 197.
