Lost Plantation in Rincon, Ga was the host course for the most recent event for the Hilton Head-Savannah Tour. The weather was absolutely perfect for the 47 golfers that came out to play today. The course was in great shape and the greens were some of the best greens the tour has played all year. The tour had 3 new members join the today bringing the tour total to 87 members this year. Those 87 members mark the largest membership total for the Hilton Head-Savannah Tour in a very long time. Congratulations! Next stop, 100 members.
The tips at Lost Plantation measure right around 6700 yards, which is where the three Championship flight players were playing from today. Tyler Grizzle made it two wins in a row by firing a solid 77 on the day. Coming in second was Dustin Nemenz with a 79. Rounding out the top three was Vince Davis.
The A flight also played from the tips today. That didn't stop the top three players from posting some top notch scores. One player in the flight was able to break the 80 mark by firing a nice 79 on the day. That player was Howard Tomlinson. Howard's 79 was 1-stroke better than second place finisher Mitchell Hammock (80) and 3-strokes better than third place finisher Terry Lennox.
The biggest flight of the day was the B flight with 14 players competing. The B flight played from the blue tees, which measured right around 6400 yards today. Two players were able to break into the 70's today; Keith Weaver and Radek Klauda. Weaver fired his career best round of 75 to take home a three stroke victory over Radek who put together a great round of 78 on the day. This is the second win in a row for Weaver. Coming in third was Roger Clark (80).
The second biggest flight of the day was the C flight with 13 players. The C flight played from the white tees today which came in just a shade over 6000 yards. Playing in his first tournament of the year was Jess Haynes who took home first place. Jess put together a steady round of 85 to claim the top spot. Coming in second was Ronnie Bowers (86) followed by Dan'l Moulton and John Donat (88).
The D flight saw eight players compete today. Putting together his best round of the year was Paul McGee to claim first place for the third time this year. Paul fired a round of 86 to win by three strokes over William Henry (89). Coming in third was Joe Ammons (96).
