This past weekend the Hilton Head-Savannah Tour held its most recent event of the season at the Fazio Course at Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island. A total of 48 players took to the course on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to play the only par 70 course on the island. The course tried to put up a fight but the winners wouldn’t let the course win this round.
The A flight saw a total of seven players take to the course in a quest to take home the win. In the end it was Mark Harrison taking home the win by posting the only round in the 70’s in the A flight. Marked fired an impressive 77 to win by three strokes over newcomer Matt Eisenmenger who fired an 80 on the day. Coming in third was Brian Nicholson with an 82.
The biggest flight of the day was the B flight with 19 players competing in the tournament. Two players stood out by firing 78’s on the day. Radek Klauda and Roger Clark both came in after 18 holes of golf with the only rounds in the 70’s in the B flight. Off to a playoff hole they went. It only took one hole for Roger Clark to win the playoff and the tournament. Coming in third was Dennis Henderson with a solid 81 on the day.
The next biggest flight on the day was the C flight with 15 players battling it out. Again, the winner of the flight shot a round in the 70’s. This time it was Brice Pierce posting a 79 on the day to claim a big win over the rest of the players in the flight. Coming in T2 was Todd Saylor and Torey Riser with 86’s on the day. Winning the scorecard playoff was Torey.
The D flight had 7 solid players competing in the tournament. It seems like we have another battle brewing between two good players; the same battled that took place last year in fact. Paul McGee and Jimmy Bryson once again finished 1-2 in the tournament today. This time it was Paul winning the tournament by firing a 93 on the day, 4 stroke better than Bryson. Finishing third was Lonnie Harley and Fred Bernhardt.
Congrats to all the winners today. Our next event will be April 5th at the Country Club of Hilton Head.
