Adam Dozier- Championship Flight Winner
The Hilton Head / Savannah division of THE EGOLF AMATEUR TOUR held their fourth event of the 2008 season on Saturday, February 9 at the Palmetto Hall Plantation's Arthur Hills Course. The Arthur Hills Course is located on Hilton Head Island and a member of the Heritage Group, a leading owner and operator of golf facilities nation wide. The course was as always in excellent condition. The cool and windy playing conditions provided a lot of bite in an already tough golf course. The course staff provided excellent service to the tour and our players had a great time.
Adam Dozier of Rincon, GA won the Championship Flight with a score of 74 over Kevin Arnold of Hilton Head who finished only one stroke behind. Reed Howard of Hilton Head followed close behind with a 77 for third. Pete Snow of Savannah took the Senior Flight honors with a 78.
Mark Harrison shot a 77 to take†A†Flight honors over Pete Snow’s 78. Lenin Lezcano finished just behind in third with an 80. Mark, Pete, and Lenin have all been playing great this year, finishing strong in almost every tournament. All the players are from Hilton Head-Savannah. Time to get going people; I know the talent is out there to challenge these players. Thomas Hellman of Bluffton captured the “A†Flight Senior win with an 89.
Travis Hoffman of Summerville took “B†Flight with an 86 over John Spencer’s 88. John is from Charleston. Greg Dukes of Savannah, GA shot a 91 for a third place finish. John Barr of Port Wentworth, GA took the “B†Flight Senior title.
Mike Tucker of Bluffton captured the “C†Flight in a playoff over John Donat of Beaufort, SC. Both Players scored 94. David Larson of Sioux Falls, SD finished third with 96. Mike also took the “C†Flight Senior honors.
Steven Stafford placed first in “D†Flight with a 94 to beat out Jeff Hall of Hilton Head who scored a 99. Bob Hagan of Charleston shot 102 for third place. Bob Hagan also held on to win the “D†Flight Senior top spot.
The next tour stop for the Low Country will be on Kiawah Island’s Turtle Point Course on February 23. This Charleston area course is a challenge for all players, but our tour players are up to the test. The next Hilton Head event on March 1 is on the Barony Course at Port Royal Plantation. We would like to encourage everyone to come out, join the tour, and enjoy playing competitive tournament golf.
