The Charleston and
Hilton Head tours took the island of Seabrook for their third combo event of
the year. The two tours combined to have 70 golfers for the event on a
course that was in superb condition. Ocean winds at Seabrook certainly lived up
to its name as the wind was up along with the scores.
Although there were no
Champ flight players, the A flight field had 18 players, with Andy Wood firing
a great round as well s the round of the day with the only sub 80 of the
day. His 79 produced a one shot victory over Jace Gause who posted an
80. Tony Capehart and Dennis Slezak tied for third with scores of 81 with
Tony prevailing in a scorecard playoff.
The B flight saw Hilton
Head's Todd Saylor post a four shot victory with a very nice round of 81.
Coming in second was Charleston's Craig Herring and Thomas Collins coming in
third with an 86 and a scorecard playoff over Lloyd Laughlin.
The C flight saw Matt
Nemes post a one shot and two shot victory over Bill Chick and Justin Avery who
fired rounds of 86 and 87 respectively.
The D flight saw another
Hilton Head tour member take the honors as Doug Pearson blasted the field with
a 94 and a five shot victory over Dave Benson.
Overall it was a great
day at a great course. Our next event will be just as nice as the
Charleston Tour takes on Mt. Pleasant's Rivertowne Country Club on Aug
8th.
