The Hilton Head-Savannah Tour held its most recent event at Heron Point Golf Club in Sea Pines this past weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect for the 35 players that took to the course. Some players lit up the course while others struggled with the greens and the tightness.
The A flight was the biggest flight of the day with 13 players playing today. One player ran away with the event. JC Smith used 4 birdies to fire a tournament low round of 77 to win the A flight by 5 strokes. Coming in second was Fred Dixon of the Charleston tour. Rounding out the top three was Mark Harrison and Brian Fox with 83’s on the card.
The B flight also saw a runaway winner. The 11 players in the flight all we battling it out to lay claim to the much needed flight points. Coming into the tournament in second place and leaving in first place was Doug Hudock. Doug fired a very impressive round of 80 to win the B flight by 5 strokes. Coming in second was Billy Bradley (85) followed by Radek Klauda in third (85).
The C flight had 7 players playing today. It also saw a first time winner in Andres Lopez. Andres fired a solid 83 to claim his first win of the season. Needless to say he was very happy. Coming in second was Rich Davies with an 87 on the day. Rounding out the top three was Dan’l Moulton and Barry Woods with 89’s on the cards.
The 4 players in the D flight saw another player pull away from the pack and claim a 5-stroke victory. Jimmy Bryson claimed yet another win this year by firing a solid 92 on the day. Coming in second was flight leader Paul McGee with a 97. Lonnie Harley rounds out the top three with a 98.
Congratulations to all the winners today. Oyster Reef is just two weeks away and with all the flights up for grabs it should be interesting.
