Champ Flight Winner – Bryce Faulkner
In his inaugural Golfweek event, Bryce made an impressive debut in the Champ flight, aiming to thwart Justin Robinson's quest for a third consecutive win. With winning on his mind, Bryce started his performance with an exemplary display of skill, tallying three consecutive pars. Demonstrating unwavering focus and finesse, he proceeded to secure another par along with three birdies, culminating in a front-nine score of 35 and establishing a commanding three-stroke advantage.
Justin Robinson and Jason Hartich, closely trailing Bryce's lead, completed their front-nine with scores of 38. As the competitors navigated the challenging back nine, it was the newcomer Bryce Faulkner who ultimately emerged as the victor. Displaying exceptional composure and consistency, Bryce delivered a series of six pars in the final stretch, concluding his round at +2. While his adversaries displayed valiant efforts to challenge Faulkner's position, he proved to be better that day and accomplished his objective.

A Flight Winner – Pat Idoux
In his debut appearance on the tour, Pat Idoux set his sights on conquering the highly competitive A Flight. Pat started off strongly on the front nine, with an impressive performance of par, birdie, par to start. He followed it up with another par on six and a fantastic birdie on the ninth hole. As the players made the turn, Pat found himself tied for the lead with Mike Petty and Doug Godier, both of whom had been showcasing their skills throughout the season.
Unfortunately, the round was interrupted due to rain, and only two holes were completed on the back nine. Phil Sherer, who was just two strokes behind the leaders at the turn, managed to secure par on both the tenth and eleventh holes, bringing him into a tie with Mike Petty for second place. In the end, Phil Sherer claimed second place due to a better score on the second handicap hole. It was an exciting battle among these talented individuals.
A big round of applause and congratulations go to Pat Idoux for triumphantly entering the winner's circle in his very first attempt in the fiercely competitive A Flight. We excitingly welcome Pat to the winners' circle and extend our greetings to him as he embarks on his journey on the tour. Well done, Pat!
B Flight Winner – Earl Mason
In his second Golfweek event, Earl Mason, a promising newcomer to the tour, showcased his remarkable skills and talent at the beautiful Tapawingo Golf Club. Earl kicked off his performance delivering an impressive sequence of four pars on the front nine while skillfully avoiding any scores worse than a bogey. As the players reached the halfway point, Earl firmly established his competitive position with a score of 41. Close on his heels were Jon Bossaller, Norm Toon, and Justin Feroce, all finishing the front nine with equally commendable scores of 42.
Unfortunately, inclement weather forced an early conclusion to the tournament, allowing only one more hole to be played. However, Earl seized the opportunity on the tenth hole, undeterred by the adverse conditions, and confidently secured a birdie, thereby sealing his first victory on the Golfweek Amateur Tour. Throughout the event, Earl displayed remarkable consistency, demonstrating the artistry and precision of his golfing abilities.
Earl, your resounding success deserves applause, as you flawlessly exhibited your skill, determination, and dominance, winning by four strokes, ultimately claiming a well-deserved victory. Nice Job, Earl.
C Flight Winner – Scott Nishimura
Scott Nishimura, the reigning points champion from last year’s C flight, embarked on a quest to secure his first victory of the season, displaying a notable surge in form as of late. Scott began his day with a stroke of brilliance, launching a powerful drive down the fairway, landing precisely on the front fringe. With finesse and precision, he executed a skillful chip shot, culminating in a birdie to kickstart his round. Demonstrating his prowess, Scott maintained his momentum, recovering admirably from a double bogey on the second hole by stringing together an impressive sequence of five consecutive pars.
Despite the relentless pursuit from contenders Jeff Schmidt and Adam Schneider, the C Flight participants were unable to complete their chase due to the impending rain. Scott's tenacity and skill shone through as he concluded his round at +2, successfully fending off Jeff Schmidt by a margin of three strokes. In doing so, Scott clinched his eighth career victory on the Golfweek Amateur Tour and secured his first dub of the year. A round of applause is in order for Scott, who showed determination and resiliency, reclaiming his place in the winners' circle and taking over the points lead. Welcome back to the top, Scotty.
D Flight Winner – Charlie Bieser
Bieser, a formidable force on the golf course, has displayed exceptional prowess at the outset of the season, posing a challenge for his competitors in the D Flight. Charlie, true to form, began his campaign with remarkable vigor. Despite an initial setback with a bogey, he swiftly rebounded, delivering a succession of four consecutive pars. Charlie was sitting at +6 all before the unwelcome arrival of rain interrupted play. In pursuit of Bieser was seasoned participant Colin Dooley, whose own performance had been commendable, teetering on the precipice of a breakthrough. Dooley mirrored Bieser's consistency, securing four pars of his own, with an impressive trio achieved consecutively on holes 2, 3, and 4.
Ultimately, with the inclement weather necessitating the tournament's premature conclusion, it was Charlie Bieser who reigned supreme once more, claiming his third victory in a mere four attempts this year. A big congratulations go to Charlie on his exceptional start to the season, as well as his well-earned sixth career victory on The Golfweek Amateur Tour. Your unwavering dedication to maintaining your exceptional level of play is truly commendable, Charlie. Your performance was nothing short of extraordinary. Atta boy Chuck.
